What happened to the old interlibrary loan request forms and ILLiad?

Why is ILLiad being retired? What will replace it?

We are retiring ILLiad after a three-year trial with the new CSU+ interlibrary loan system. This new system integrates directly with OneSearch making it much easier for library users to request books and articles, allowing users to receive their materials faster.

Within two years, the new system was already filling 93% of our interlibrary loan requests. That number continues to rise with the addition of more libraries to the CSU+ system. Given the success of the trial, we decided to transition away from ILLiad when our contract expired in June 2025.

We are now using CSU+ Interlibrary Loan for all of our interlibrary loan requests.

What do I need to use the new CSU+ Interlibrary Loan system?

All you need are your Cal State LA credentials—the same username and password that you use to check your calstatela.edu email—and access to OneSearch. You’ll use those credentials to place your requests directly within OneSearch. Click here for instructions on how to use CSU+ Interlibrary Loan.

What will happen to my ILLiad request history?

All ILLiad request information has been archived. You can receive a copy of your request history by writing to the Interlibrary Loan department, but you must write from your calstatela.edu email address for verification.
