How can I request an article I found in a database, but isn't available?

Answer

If you find a journal article that you want to read and can't find a copy of it in a database, you can request it from another library with CSU+ interlibrary loan!

Steps to Request:

  1. Search your favorite Library Database for articles
  2. If you find an article with no full-text, click the yellow "find it" button to check for access from the Library. It will link to the Library OneSearch website.

  1. If we do not have access in OneSearch, you will see the message that says, "No Link are available for this record." If you haven't already, sign in to your library account using your Cal State LA username and password.

  1. Select "Get It" under the blue get a digital copy box and complete the form that appears.Request an Article Prompt in OneSearch
  2. Watch your email for updates! You will receive an email notification once your article is available to view/download. You can check the status of your request following the steps outlined on this page. Occasionally requests will be canceled because the item is unavailable for any number of reasons. When that happens, check your cancellation email to see the specific reason for cancellation.
