Peer review is the process in which experts (reviewers) evaluate the research of other experts (authors) in the same field. During the process, reviewers will check the quality of the article, look for accuracy, and check the validity of the methods and procedures. The process can either be anonymous or open, depending on the journal the author is publishing in.
